What to do in an out of hours emergency
We always have a choice of Out of Hours providers for you to access when we are closed. Call our phone number - 01360 550131 - and you will be given two choices.
Please be aware that because of the nature of Out of Hours emergencies, a night-time or weekend appointment will be more expensive than seeing a vet during usual hours.
From Monday until Thursday from 6pm until 8:30am we have our sister practice Struthers and Scott in Doune handling our out of hours calls, you may see some vets that you know as this is a rolling rota of our vets.
Struthers & Scott Veterinary Practice Innes Park Station Wynd Doune Perthshire FK16 6EH
You also have the choice when you call us, to go to Vets Now in Glasgow, they are on call for us all through the week and weekend if Glasgow is closer for you.
Vets Now Hospital Glasgow 123-145 North Street Glasgow G3 7DA
Phone number: 0141237 7676
From Friday 6pm until Monday 8:30am Vets 999 replaces Struthers and Scott.
Vets 999 is based at: Broadleys Veterinary Hospital Craigleith Road Stirling FK7 7LE
For ongoing care of our patients already treated and requiring ongoing care we can transfer to any of our out of hours providers.
Struthers and Scott are not a hospital so, therefore, check patients periodically without staff in the building all night, whereas Broadleys and Vets Now have a team working through the night.
Clients will transfer the patients themselves.
The history and inpatient sheets will be transferred with the patient to the team taking our transfer.
The veterinary surgeon will provide estimates of all costs within practice, and costs of inpatient care at their chosen provider, they will also estimate how long recovery will take and how many days care may be needed where possible to ensure transparency.
